01 — THE OPT-OUT PROBLEM

Read AI's insight is everyone's insight.

When Read joins a call, the sentiment report goes to the whole room. That's a design choice, not a bug — and for a lot of meetings, it's the wrong one.

Read AI's signature feature is real-time meeting analytics: sentiment, engagement, speaker balance, and a 'meeting effectiveness' score, often delivered by email to every attendee after the call. It's interesting data. It's also data you sometimes don't want your manager, your client, or your board to see — and in 2024–2025, enough universities and enterprises banned Read outright that the privacy narrative became unavoidable.

Veroi computes similar signals — sentiment, energy, participation, drift from agenda — but does it privately, for you, on your device. No one else sees your co-pilot's read of the call. No one else gets a score. The analytics are a tool for you to improve, not a grade anyone else assigns.

02 — CLOUD PROCESSING

Read uploads the call. Veroi never does.

Read AI is cloud-native. Transcription, summarisation, sentiment analysis, and storage all live in their infrastructure. That's what enables the shared dashboards — and it's what makes the product a non-starter for regulated industries, legal privilege, and competitive conversations.

Veroi runs the whole pipeline on-device. Gemma 4 and Qwen 3.5 handle summarisation and chat locally; sentiment and engagement signals are computed by small models bundled with the app. Your meeting never leaves your Mac.

03 — USE CASES WHERE VEROI WINS

The meetings Read AI shouldn't be in.

There's a class of meeting where shared sentiment scoring is actively harmful. Veroi is the answer for those.

04 — PRICING

$15/user/month is a lot for surveillance theatre.

Read AI's team plan is $15/user/month. A 20-person org pays $3,600/year, indefinitely, for software that measures meetings while uploading them. Veroi is a one-time license per person with up to 2 activations. The analytics you want are included; the analytics you didn't ask to share with everyone are just not part of the product.

Metrics about your meetings shouldn't land in your boss's inbox.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Questions we get about this switch.

Can Veroi still tell me how my meetings are going?
Yes. You get the same class of signals — speaker balance, sentiment trend, topic drift, action-item completion rates — as a personal dashboard. They never leave your device and they're not shared with other attendees.
Does Veroi broadcast any score to other participants?
Never. Veroi is invisible to other attendees by design. If you want to share a summary or action items after a call, you do it manually, to the people you choose.
Why did universities ban Read AI?
Multiple institutions cited FERPA concerns and inability to get meaningful consent from students recorded during advising, office hours, and research calls. The issue wasn't Read's security; it was the default cloud-capture model.
I want the coaching feedback. Can I get it without the cloud?
Yes. Veroi's coaching layer — personal stats on speaking time, filler words, pacing, clarity — runs entirely on-device and only surfaces to you. Think of it as Fitbit for conversations, minus the social layer.
